I added more detail to his eyes, and I'm not sure it's for the better. The lower one is the old, more round version. I like the tear duct in the top version, but I'm not really big on the almondy-ness. Maybe I'll get used to it. When you stare at something for a long long time, you start to see "different" as "wrong."

I have three little brothers, and every one of them has thought that "muscle shirts" make them cool. Chris thought his sleeves should be rolled up, because his mom wouldn't actually let him wear a sleeveless shirt out of the house. I like it because it'll let me unravel him a little more when he gets...unravelled. They need some more detail, but I don't want to make the cloth sim too heavy, since I don't anticipate coming across a free supercomputer. I might try out some normal mapping. Slut.

Which white, bald, stripy shirt-wearing alternasinger do you think he looks most like? The first time around it was DEFINITELY Billy Corgan. I guess I've improved? Hopefully I won't have to contemplate it much longer. His ungelled hair would probably look something like Alex Kapranos's. Look how much Franz Ferdinand are my boyfriends.

The only thing here that has a painted texture is the shirt. It moves though. I'll post some kind of test when the pants are working better.

Makeover time! Sarah Hoopes once pointed out to me that whenever I draw a boy, it looks like Joaquin Phoenix. So this sort of qualifies as fan art. Someone's going to be remaking a ton of blendshapes, cuz this is what I want the brother to look like now. Thank you, zbrush. I think he looks like Jonas Armstrong. And Joaquin Phoenix.

I kind of like the rainbow version...danger. Her hat's going to be all elaborate frou frou french gold-crusted detal...I'm too modeled out to even think about it. This is step 1 in making hair that looks like hair. If the dynamics fall completely on their faces, I can always go back to these NURBS and make a texture, game-style.

No fair! This was done yesterday but my roommate's broken body was blocking the internet connection. As is, I'm posting from my laptop, directly pluged into the modem. Ewww. Anyway, this is about a day into the princess's makeover. A tiny version of the old model is my profile picture. Incommunicable heaps of inspiration came from some bad-ass fan art Sir Christopher McInerney made, which you should look at over at his blog, which is also a link on the side of my page here. This was fun, but before I lapse further into a drooling obsession over paint effects, I need to get back to rigging the body that once belonged to this floating head.

Progress pictures in reverse chronological order. Still working on this...of course I want to re-model EVERYTHING. The newest pick on top is the best sequin shader I've managed thusfar. I will have an arsenal of glitter by the time I'm ready to animate. I'll need it. Man, that shaderGlow1 has ALL the power over the look of anything shiny. I'm into the cheesy glow halo look right now.

Oh yes...glitter OBLITERATION.

I love you, Martha Stewart, but you and your lapis lazuli will EAT THIS. The queen, here, needs me to put her feather pubic hair back on. New teeth necessary as well, but I am all up in the shaderGlow node's business. Glitter R&D is about 80% of my process.

The brother got a makeover last year. Hopefully I'll get to animate him being angry some more, and get him out of the DBZ jumpsuit I put him in just so I wouldn't be observed playing with naked kids for hours on end. Yes, that's "hair hair." His new shirt will be cloth cloth, too.
